Who We Are

At the Lake Fenton United Methodist Church, you will find a warm and spirited group of people who love to laugh on Sunday morning. We take Jesus very seriously, but we try not to take ourselves too seriously.

Our pastor, Rev. Jeremy Peters,* is a graduate of Albion College and Duke University. He loves bad jokes, good coffee, college basketball, and the Detroit Tigers. He is married with two children, and he believes that worship should never be boring. Each Sunday he relates the story of Jesus to the stories of our lives.

Lake Fenton UMC is located directly across the street from the Lake Fenton Middle School, and we believe that God has called us to support the students, teachers, administrators, and parents of the Lake Fenton Community Schools. Many members of our church family go into the schools to mentor students, and our pastor leads a Bible Club at the Lake Fenton Middle School. We work hard to make our community and our neighborhood a safer, more loving place.

If you are looking for a place where it’s okay to be a work in progress, we would love to meet you. Maybe you’ve been straining to hear God’s voice. Maybe you’ve left other churches feeling cold and unnoticed. Maybe you want to find a place where all people are welcome. Before you give up on church, give Lake Fenton UMC a try. Help us show the world that the church can be a haven of love in a world of hate.

*Pastor Jeremy Peters has moved on and the new Pastor is Char Shay. We will have more information for you on this shortly. Thank you.
